Talent Agent and Producer 53 years old

Cal Boyington, a veteran TV talent agent who founded Vital Artists Agency as well as executive produced the series Workaholicsdied. He is 53 years old.

Boyington was found unresponsive at his San Pedro home on November 18, The Hollywood Reporter learned. A medical examiner said the cause was likely a heart attack, but officials won’t know until toxicology tests are completed.

Born Michael Carlton Boyington on March 3, 1971, in Kansas City, Missouri, he later grew up in Vail, Colorado and eventually decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, which brought him to LA

Before founding talent firm Vital Artists Agency in 2020, Boyington worked as an unscripted agent at ICM Partners and head of alternative programming at Paradigm Talent Agency. During his time as an agent, he worked on an MTV reality series The Osbournes.

Boyington also has a passion for producing, serving as an executive producer at Manolin Entertainment for several years before joining Rebel Entertainment Partners as VP digital/TV. As a producer, he has worked on projects including, Workaholics, R5Sons Alaska, Searching the Bible, Cabo and Baker Boys: Inside the Surge.

Those who knew Cal will attest to his unwavering passion for living each day to its fullest.”

Boyington’s dog, aa Shibu Inu named Akua, was an early viral social media star known as “The Dancing Doge.”

Boyington is survived by his parents Mike Boyington and Travis “Penny” Farrar, and younger brother BG Dickey.
